a vial of rehydrating
sterile diluent, and a scarifying
applicator. Store in
the dark at 2 to 7 C.

new lamb and kid crop
because dried
scabs retain infective virus resistant to
heat and cold and can survive from year to year. exposure
to infection can occur during shipping. Vaccinate range
lambs at least 10 days before shipment to feed lots to
prevent rapid spread of the disease after arrival. In
outbreaks vaccination of infected animals tends to
shorten the course of the disease.

or by placing a drop of vaccine
on area and brush vigorously. Reddening and slight
swelling of administration site will be observed
in a few days. The raised area will rupture and scab
over representing a "take" or successful vaccination.
Scabs will dry and fall off in about 3 weeks.
PRECAUTIONS - Do not vaccinate within 21
days before
slaughter nor with 24 hours of dipping or spraying. Do
